Ocotillo Golf Course -Blue/White/Gold, is a Public, 27 hole golf course located in Chandler, Arizona. The course can be played in any of 3 - 18 hole combinations.
Ocotillo Golf Course first opened for play in 1986. The golf course(s) were designed by Ted Robinson.
A traditional-style course, Ocotillo Golf Resort's lush fairways, cascading waterfalls and colorful flora offer a unique contrast to the desert landscaped courses that permeate the Valley. Water comes into play on twenty-four out of the twenty-seven holes. The three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations with yardages ranging from 6,782 to 7,016 from the back tees and 5,128 to 5,134 from the forward tees.
The Blue Course plays to 3,497 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36 .
The White Course plays to 3,285 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 35 .
The Gold Course plays to 3,519 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36 .
Some greens are double and triple-tiered, forcing more decisive shots to the green. The most challenging combination is the White/Gold Course, and the best hole is probably #9 on the White Course, a 471-yard, par 4. On this hole, players must hit their tee shot over a slight rise in the fairway if they hope to reach the green in two. The approach must travel a good 200 yards over water to a three-tiered putting surface
Ocotillo Golf Resort is recognized as a Top 50 Resort by Golf World and a 4 1/2 star golf course by Golf Digest.

The course is kept too wet by over watering, too many holes are roped off, the fairways are cut too tight and the bunker sand is bad quality

Ocotillo is consistently outstanding. Troon Managed. Exceptional all around -- great course, well taken care of, great staff, great club-house. I have played this course for 13-yrs and NEVER complained. It is not the toughest course with LOTS of water to contend with, but always kept up very nice. It can be more challenging from the back tees (tips) but you can score low on this course. Highly recommend this course.

Always in great condition, beautiful layout with water on 24 of the 27 holes. Knowledge of the course is a plus as water and bunkers make shot selection very important. Staff are great, very friendly and professional. Best course on the south side of Phoenix metro. Best way to get a good price is on-line.

I have been here 4 times in the last 6 months, every time I have seen 30mph winds or more, somehow, most of the holes into the wind, 2 or 3 with it. It would have been nice to play it on a calmer day to get a good idea of what scores could have been posted. I made the best of it though. Had fun.

We play this course often and love it. Very friendly staff, especially Pat. Normally in great condition and a good pace of play. It's our favorite in the Phoenix area!

Well this is a two-edged review because the course is excellent, the staff as well, etc...so to get that, one must pay a higher price...that said, there are other courses I prefer if this one is $20 or more than they. Regarding the water, there is a bunch of it but one can play safely away from it 80% of the time. Use the yardage book if you're unfamiliar, as the water edge is not always seen, and a good shot or two can get swallowed up. The greens are excellent year round and you better putt well with slopes and multiple tiers. The fairways are most often lush and the rough not too 'rough'. Bunkering is fair but some bunkers tend to be quite hard, a definite negative...better get a good read on that before your shot.

This is an amazing golf course for the money in the summertime. The service is top-notch from the moment you drop off your bag until they load it back into your vehicle. The Troon layout is challenging enough to be fun without causing undue stress. Having three separate nine hole layouts allows for a different experience nearly every time out (unless you play it twice a week like I do!). The fairways and greens are meticulously maintained and are in better condition during the dead of summer than most other courses are at their prime. The beauty of the homes surrounding the course, the water features, and the landscaping provide for a stunning backdrop. This is an all around fantastic golfing experience.

I have played this course for over 20 years. In the last 7 I have played it less and less frequently due to it being over priced and not in the best condition. It's the one course in Arizona that you will get mud on your ball no matter what time of year you play it. The green condition is always hit and miss. This time was a clear miss as the greens were horrible and some fairways were also pretty bad. The greens fee to play under present conditions should have been $20 or less.
